Our Story

At Aloe Aussies, our philosophy is simple: we aren’t just breeding Australian Shepherds, we are raising someone’s new family member.

Our Beginning

Our journey with Australian Shepherds officially began in 2022, after years of searching and researching the right breed for our family. My husband, Billy, grew up around Border Collies and Corgis from his family’s cattle ranch, then moved on to owning bully breeds. I grew up with Dobermans and Chihuahuas, then moved to owning Huskies and Great Danes. We both independently loved those breeds, but they were never the right fit for us. They taught us so much in our time with them, knowledge of training, personalities, and traits that has helped us infinitely while on our way to finding what we wanted in our forever breed.

We were brought home two Australian Shepherds—Skye, a blue merle female and Koda, a red merle female—who very quickly changed the course of our lives. They were amazing, loving, and had an eagerness to learn unlike any dog we had ever known. It became clear very quickly that Australian Shepherds were the breed we had been searching for, and we soon realized that we wanted to introduce other people to what these incredible dogs had to offer. What began as a quest for the perfect breed for us grew into a responsibility of producing equally amazing dogs for others, and there Aloe Aussies began.

How our dogs are raised

From their earliest days, our puppies are raised in a stable, enriched environment designed to support confidence, adaptability, and trust. These early experiences create a foundation that carries forward into every stage of life for a well-rounded dog.

All of our puppies are born inside our home in our dedicated puppy nursery, where they are monitored (24/7 camera and someone always home) from the moment they arrive. From day one, each puppy is handled and gently introduced to human touch through consistent daily interaction for early desensitization. This hands-on care helps build trust, confidence, and stability.

During their first weeks, puppies remain inside with us to ensure they are thriving, growing appropriately, and developing strong foundations. As they grow, they are slowly introduced to the outside world of our backyard during the day where they experience new sights, sounds, and environments in a safe and controlled way. This balance between indoor security and outdoor exposure supports adaptability and confidence without overwhelming them.

As puppies grow, we begin introducing new experiences into their daily routines. This includes indoor/outdoor kennel exposure, supervised free indoor time to begin potty training, further exploration in safe outdoor areas, and exposure to new animals like chickens and cats. These introductions are designed to prepare puppies for life beyond our home, keeping experiences positive.

Our Commitment to You

Choosing a breeder is the start of a long-term relationship. We take pride in giving you the puppy you’ve been dreaming of, and ensuring that the transition from our home to yours is seamless. We offer lifetime breeder support for every dog we produce—because once an Aloe Aussie, always an Aloe Aussie.

Health Guarantees & Written Agreements

Every puppy placed through Aloe Aussies leaves under a written contract designed to protect both the puppy and the family welcoming them home. We offer a 72-hour full money-back health guarantee, allowing time for a vet visit and peace of mind during the transition period. Additionally, all puppies are sent home with a one-year genetic health guarantee. We believe standing behind our dogs beyond the puppy stage is an essential part of responsible breeding.

At Aloe Aussies, we take lifelong responsibility for every dog we produce. No Australian Shepherd bred here should ever find themselves without a safe place to land. Every puppy is placed under contract with the clear understanding that if circumstances ever change, that dog is to be returned to us. Our breeding responsibly does not end at placement.

This commitment is a shared responsibility. Our role is to raise, evaluate, and place our puppies thoughtfully; a family’s role is to continue nurturing that puppy with the same care and intention. When both sides honor that responsibility, the outcome will result in lifelong well-being for the dog.

Dogs that end up in pounds, shelters, & rescues are there because of irresponsible breeding and pet ownership. We want to be part of the solution, not part of the problem.
They’re counting on us.
