Standard Australian ShepherdKoda, or "Monkey", as we call her. Koda is goofy, playful, active, and vocal. She can and will speak her mind if she has something to say. She loves to make what sounds like monkey hoots and just the weirdest noises, simply because she loves to make me laugh.
What Koda lacks in height she makes up for in energy. Koda loves to run, play and jump at any opportunity. She is eager to learn and is so happy to do anything you ask, or even if you didn’t ask. She’ll do every trick she knows, just in case you wanted her to without saying it. She is smart as can be, and her puppies will be more suited for active lifestyles if we notice that they take after their mom.
Koda is our only unregistered Aussie here at ALOE Aussies, but still classified as purebred based on DNA results. She came from a family that could no longer keep her as just a puppy, and has become a loved member of ours instead.
36lbs - Medium/High Drive - Vocal - People LoverKoda has the most beautiful red merle patterning, beautiful marbled eyes and long, thick fur. Stature wise, she is short legged, making her more the height of a mini aussie than a typical standard. This makes her and her puppies smaller overall to be more ideal for smaller homes/spaces!
Koda is a carrier of DM, or Degenerative Myelopathy. Because she is only a carrier of this gene, she and any of her puppies that may inherit this gene will be totally unaffected by it. Our males are not carriers for this gene, meaning our puppies will not be at risk of actually having this genetic disorder. This is just something to keep in mind should you want to breed one of Koda’s puppies from us in the future to find a suitable mate without this recessive trait.
Koda has had 2 litters with us, and so far has loved being a mom. She gets to make her own little playmates that she can play with all the time? What a great deal!
