Moxie

Copper Peak Mountain Climbing Moxie
Standard Australian Shepherd

Meet Moxie! This beautiful, super light colored red merle Tricolor Aussie pup is planned to be a future momma one day at Aloe Aussies. She is one of the newest additions to the Aloe Aussie family, and we are really hoping she meets all of our expectations to become one of our foundation females in the future!

Moxie came from another breeder here in California (Copper Peak Aussies) who was a super sweet woman that we loved working with. I wasn’t able to meet her in person due to the distance, but she was so nice over text when we were communicating, and she happily worked with us in bringing one of her pups into our program. My husband went to meet her and Moxie the day he came to take her home, and we could tell she really loved her dogs, and the pup we were adding to our own pack!

On the drive home with Moxie, my husband had his hands FULL! This pup was crazy, and initially he was like “oh god, what did you get us into”. Moxie was doing donuts around the headrest of his truck seat, doing laps around the cab, then rolled down the window and tried to jump out on the freeway.

Low/Medium Drive - Sweet - Laidback

He sent me a video of them after safely ensuring the child safety lock was on this time, and was calling her “Monkey” due to her love of climbing, when the song ‘Brass Monkey’ came on the radio. If that wasn’t the sign to name this girl Monkey, I don’t know what is! But she was just so pretty, Monkey just didn’t feel like the right name for her. Instead, I decided on Moxie, due to her lack of fear of anything. And “Mountain Climbing Moxie” became her official registered name to at least pay memorial to her crazy antics. Though, I guess ‘Truck Climbing Monkey Dog’ would have been a good runner up, too.

Moxie is now MUCH more laid back, and (thankfully) does not do laps in the truck anymore. Instead, she has a very calm demeanor and is so sweet, loves to do tricks and learn. She’s definitely in the awkward Aussie growth stage right now, with her long legs and lanky body, but I can already tell she is going to be incredible. Her fur is growing in like a mane, and it’s going to be so full and fluffy when she’s older. She’s going to be a beautiful adult one day and we can’t wait to see how she matures!
