Skye is a shining example of why you should support honest breeders instead of trusting a random person with a puppy off the internet. Sure, Craigslist makes it easy to find a dog, but are the people trustworthy? Do they care about the dogs, or just in it for quick money?
We bought Skye at 6 months old as a "purebred" Australian Shepherd. We were just getting into the breed, so we took the word of these people thinking people wouldn't just lie about something like that, would they?
They absolutely would. Skye is the farthest from purebred than any of our dogs here at ALOE Aussies. Because we DNA and health test all of our dogs, we quickly learned that she is 49% Standard Aussie, 35% Border Collie, 5% Mini American, 5% Kelpie and 2% Golden retriever (just for flavor I guess.)
Despite this, Skye is an INCREDIBLE dog, and while we don't condone breeding mixed breed dogs, Skye is our ONLY exception just due to her amazing nature, temperament and personality. In all other aspects beside breed, she is perfect. She is healthy, smart, and the most loyal dog.

As a mom, Skye produces big, healthy puppies with fantastic temperaments that make amazing companions, and have fit into any lifestyle they’ve been added into. We have multiple return clients and their friends wanting another puppy from Skye just because of how incredible their dogs turned out.
Just to not continue the dilution of the breed, we do not suggest puppies produced by her to be bred in their new homes. But if you are looking for an amazing new family member with an amazing demeanor and an eagerness to please, Skye's puppies are where it's at!
Skye is having what will likely be her last litter this year (Early 2026) with us at ALOE Aussies before she will be spayed and kept as a nanny dog (a dog that is not the mother of the puppies but helps to take care of puppies and teach them manners/social skills) because she just loves raising puppies, even if they aren't her own.
