Miniature American ShepherdMeet Whiskey! This handsome Red Tricolor Miniature American Shepherd is currently going through a pretty ugly shed, so don’t let his mullet fool you. His normally long, deep red coat and contrasting ice blue eyes make him an absolute stunner when he’s shed out!
We added Whiskey to our family on a whim because he wasn’t getting along with another breeder’s stud, and she needed a new place for him. Since we train our own dogs and need a future boyfriend for Disney, we decided to see if it was something correctable to give him a shot with our pups. If we decided it might be more genetic than behavioral, we wouldn’t risk breeding him in case he passed anything onto his puppies.
But giving him just a little time and effort, we found out that this boy is nothing but a sweetheart and lover, so he deserved a chance to show it!
Medium/High Drive - Active - Energetic - PlayfulWhiskey is a man of many names. His first name was Patriot at his breeder since he was being born on Labor day. Then at his first home, he was named Ziggy. And at his second home, he got the name Whiskey. We decided to keep Whiskey for his final name, as it fits him very well. Like a barrel aged scotch, this boy is only getting better with time! He loves to jump, and run, and is so very smart. He is eager to learn and loves to work to earn praise.
Whiskey gets along great with all of our dogs, and our cat loves to make him chase her. He can even be kenneled with our other stud Mojo without issue. He has learned pack manners living amongst the other Aussies, and we think his previous issues were just because he never learned how to communicate boundaries with other dogs, not because he was mean at all. He was just a misunderstood boy, and we are so grateful that he found his second-chance home here with us.
